We Can’t Wait For Jera on Air 2019 [Preview]

Last year, when looking for a replacement festival for Groezrock, we stumbled across Jera on Air, a slightly smaller punk rock festival in the Netherlands. The headliners were NOFX and Billy Talent. We gave it a go, and were thoroughly impressed with everything about the event. The line-up was fantastic, it wasn’t expensive and the organisation at the event was also spot on. Needless to say, we’re heading back this year, and we can’t wait.

Headlined by Sum 41, Parkway Drive and Enter Shikari, the line-up is once again excellent. We figured as part of our initial preview, we’d pick out the five bands that we’re most excited to check out across the weekend:

The meteoric rise of The Interrupters over the past 12 months has made them top our must see list. Ska-punk has needed a new band that can step up to the level of genre-heavyweights Less Than Jake and Reel Big Fish, and stay there for some years, and we’re pretty certain that The Interrupters are that band.

Enter Shikari were one of the highlights of last year’s festival, so the fact that they’re back is just lovely. Not only do they put on a wonderful show, but they’re probably not fussed about how big their name is on the poster either.

Tel-Aviv, Isreal isn’t the first place you think of when you wonder where kick ass punk rock bands come from, but Not On Tour are quite possibly the finest band to come out of there since, well, ever. They may be called Not On Tour, but they’re seemingly always on tour and have honed their craft to become one of the most fun live bands on the circuit. Definitely check them out!

We couldn’t not include our buds in Random Hand in this list. They’re one of the UK’s finest live bands and they ALWAYS bring the party. We’ve lost count of how many times we’ve seen them play. It’s usually just down the road from us, but we’re not going to miss this just because it’s a few hundred miles away!

Fever 333 are one of the most exciting bands on the scene right now. They’re basically Rage Against The Machine for a new generation, and that’s just great.

We’ll probably do some more preview features in the coming weeks leading up to the festival. Maybe a “Bands we’d love to check out but probably won’t because of the audience” feature. (Seriously guys, we want to see Terror at some point. Stop swinging elbows.)
